Read the latest magazine Industry News Ladders Werner Invests in its UK Centre of Excellence 6 October 2026 Werner, manufacturer of height safety equipment, has invested in its Burton upon Trent Centre of Excellence as it continues to expand the site’s role as its manufacturing and distribution hub for Werner and BoSS products in the UK. The move follows the successful return of extension ladder production to the UK last year and means that Werner will now produce the largest volume of ladders in the country. The investment will see Werner create new manufacturing and operational roles at its Burton facility, supporting the introduction of additional production lines there. In addition, a number of production lines at Werner’s Maldon factory, in Essex, will also be moved to Burton as part of the wider investment in the Centre of Excellence. By expanding manufacturing capacity at its Burton facility, Werner is continuing to invest in British production capabilities while supporting local employment, strengthening local supply chains and creating further opportunities for growth across the UK’s manufacturing sector. The Burton Centre of Excellence is a best-in-class manufacturing and distribution facility operating within a lean manufacturing environment and supporting Werner’s long-term growth ambitions. Closer to Customers The decision reflects the company’s wider strategy of bringing manufacturing closer to its customers and delivering benefits in quality, responsiveness and operational efficiency, while reinforcing the state-of-the-art facility in Burton as a key hub for Werner’s UK operations. Justin White, Werner Co MD Justin White, Managing Director of Werner UK, said: “The continued expansion of our Burton Centre of Excellence represents another significant milestone in our commitment to UK manufacturing and investment. Burton is rapidly becoming the key manufacturing hub for Werner products and distribution hub for BoSS products in the UK, while playing a critical role within the wider ProDriven Global Brands network. “Investing in British manufacturing allows us to build on the expertise of our workforce, strengthen relationships with UK suppliers and respond more quickly to the needs of our customers. “At the heart of the Werner brand is industry-leading manufacturing technology, and our continued investment in Burton enables us to maintain the highest standards of quality, innovation and operational excellence. As part of our wider investment strategy, Burton will continue to play an increasing role within the ProDriven Global Brands network, supporting the introduction of additional product lines from across the wider ProDriven Global Brands network and enhancing operational capability. “From January 2027, the site will also become the primary UK distribution hub for BoSS products. Just as importantly, it enables us to continue creating skilled manufacturing opportunities in the Midlands while investing in the future of our UK operations.” >> Read more about Werner in the news Previous article Job Done: Roof Refurb Brightens Up Britain’s Busiest StationNext article IMA Says Positive Proposals from PM but GB Grid Only Half the Answer Share article You may also like View all News Industry News +3 6 October 2026 IMA Says Positive Proposals from PM but GB Grid Only Half the Answer Industry News +1 6 October 2026 Job Done: Roof Refurb Brightens Up Britain’s Busiest Station Industry News +1 6 October 2026 Infrastructure Keeps UK Construction Moving Through a Sluggish Spell Check out the latest issue 126 September-October 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch
