Alumasc Group has posted 9.6% revenue growth in a trading update for the first quarter of its financial year ending 30 June 2027.

Overall, the sustainable building products, systems and solutions company reports a positive trading momentum in Q1 FY27.

The period included the first call-offs from the £2m project at Changi Airport, Singapore, along with further sales to Chek Lap Kok airport in Hong Kong. Excluding these, Group revenues were still 5% ahead of Q1 FY26, despite subdued demand conditions, particularly in UK residential construction markets.

Strong Trading Momentum

The divisional star performer was Water Management which saw revenue increase by 13.3%, followed by Building Envelope, up 7%, and Housebuilding Products, up 6.4%. Alumasc said margins also improved year-on-year as expected, reflecting operational gearing and the benefit of recent restructuring.

The Group’s order book continued to increase over the period, standing 67% higher than twelve months ago. This positive uplift has carried over into the early part of Q2 FY27, with two orders won in the first weeks of October.

Building Envelope took £2.1m for the first phase of a student accommodation refurbishment project at Manchester University. Meanwhile, Water Management took £0.4m for the first phase of a significant upgrade project at Tin Can Island Port Complex, Nigeria, diversifying its exports beyond the Middle East and Asia.

Timloc, the Group’s Housebuilding Products business, operates a next day delivery business model so does not have an order book, but reportedly continues to win market share and grow its revenues in a challenging housebuilding market.

Vijay Thakrar, Interim Executive Chair, commented: “Against such a tough economic and construction market backdrop, it is encouraging to see the positive revenue and order intake momentum continue over Q1 FY27 and into the first weeks of Q2 across all of our divisions.

“Our management teams are performing well, under the leadership of the Executive Board, progressing our strategic self-help and organic growth objectives.

“The Board remains confident of progress in FY27, in line with expectations, and in the Group’s ability to outperform its underlying markets and deliver significant shareholder value.”
