Sika Acquires Waterproofing Membrane Manufacturer

Sika has acquired Duproof, a Dubai-based manufacturer of waterproofing membranes.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen Sika’s position in the UAE construction market and support Sika’s locally sourced product offering for projects in the region.

Duproof manufactures a range of bituminous membrane solutions that are widely used in major construction projects across the UAE. The company operates a strategically located production site which is expected to drive manufacturing and distribution synergies for Sika.

Through the acquisition of Duproof, Sika aims to further strengthen its regional waterproofing platform in the Middle East. Intended to complement its existing manufacturing footprint in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, the new UAE site will enhance the ability to serve customers across the region through local manufacturing and regional supply capabilities.
