Veteran Finance Executive Joins Sims Crane as CFO

Sims Crane & Equipment Co, the provider of crane, rigging and lifting solutions across the Southeast, has announced Katie MacGillivary as its new chief financial officer, effective Oct. 5, 2026.

Katie brings 25 years of financial leadership experience to Sims Crane, with a track record of transforming financial operations and helping companies navigate significant growth, acquisitions and strategic transactions.

Throughout her career, she has led numerous acquisitions, multiple exit processes and an initial public offering across industries including transportation, financing, logistics and energy.

“Katie brings an exceptional combination of financial expertise, strategic leadership and experience guiding organizations through periods of significant growth,” said Deborah Weber, Chief Executive Officer and President of Sims Crane & Equipment.

Katie joins Sims Crane from Channel Partners, where she served as Chief Financial Officer since 2019, leading the company’s finance, accounting, payroll, tax, human resources and legal functions.

Katie is a 2026 Tampa Titan 100 honoree and was previously recognized as CFO of the Year in 2022.

A certified public accountant, Katie holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Central Florida. She is also a member of the Young Men’s Service League.
