Florida Roofer Contractor Supports Ocala Kids Back-to-School Giveaway

Just in time for the start of a new school year, Florida-based roofing contractor Action Roofing donated essential school supplies to more than 170 children at the Boys & Girls Club of Citrus and Marion Counties.

Children ages 6 to 12 each received pens, pencils, glue, and notebooks during a special event, held on July 31.

In addition to supplies, children celebrated the end of summer with a full day of indoor and outdoor games and activities, capping the event with a pizza party for children and their families.

“The Boys & Girls Club of Citrus and Marion Counties does incredible work for this community, and this was our chance to show up for the families they serve,” said Jeremy Wilkinson, Ocala Branch Manager at Action Roofing. “Sending these kids into the school year with the supplies they need and a day full of memories is the kind of giving that matters most to us.”

The Boys & Girls Club of Citrus and Marion Counties provides Ocala youth with a safe, caring, and engaging environment where children receive homework support from certified teachers, participate in STEM activities, explore the arts, develop leadership skills, and enjoy sports and recreational programming year-round. This marks the second consecutive year Action Roofing has supported the club’s end of summer party.

Back-to-School Giveaway

Action Roofing’s donation comes at a time when families are feeling the pressure of rising costs. According to recent studies, school supply prices rose 7.3% year-over-year in 2025 and are up 20% compared to pre-pandemic levels, with the average family spending $557 per child on back-to-school essentials.

As a company that serves communities across Florida, Action Roofing says giving back to the families in the neighborhoods it calls home is a natural part of its mission.
