The Rooflight Association represents all of the UK’s manufacturers of profiled and factory/warehouse rooflights, as well as contractors, consultants and other businesses serving this and other construction sectors. The two associations have collaborated in the past, to produce technical guidance documentation covering rooflighting in metal clad buildings. However, this agreement is intended to lead to a more structured approach and the establishment of joint working groups to tackle specific issues. Rooflight Association & MCRMA Join Forces RA Chairman Ian Weakford said: “This move is an important step toward our goal of achieving a more ‘joined-up’ roofing sector, in which businesses involved in all the elements of the building envelope, share a common commitment and understanding of factors relating to design, installation, performance and safety. “We believe that this is particularly relevant in today’s construction industry, as technology and legislation continue to evolve at an increasing pace.” “A draft plan of topics to be addressed has already been drawn up and we look forward to working closely with our colleagues at the MCRMA.” Carlton Jones, MCRMA and IoR Director, added: “Both the MCRMA and the RA have a strong vested interest in the building envelope of industrial and commercial buildings and warehouses. Members of both associations recognise the importance of highlighting the need for roof safety to those who gain access to and work within the roof area of these buildings. “In addition, the associations recognise the accompanying technical, environmental and sustainability credentials of the products and systems and a close working relationship between the MCRMA and the RA will provide further development opportunities.” >> Read more about the Rooflight Association in the news Previous article The Silent Struggle: Researching Construction Worker’s AnxietyNext article Freefoam in Top 9% of Companies Rated for Sustainability by EcoVadis Share article You may also like View all News Cladding +3 29 January 2026 Kovara Projects Expands MCRMA Installer Representation Cladding +2 22 January 2026 FK Facades and FK Construction Collapse as FK Group Continues Cladding +3 8 January 2026 Tremco Construction Products to Acquire Kalzip GmbH Cladding +3 15 December 2025 First Building Envelope Professionals Approved as MCRI Members Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 123 March-April 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
