Formerly named the National Association of Rooflight Manufacturers (NARM), the organisation rebranded in 2023. At the same time it extended its membership to include rooflight installers, specifiers, distributors and other rooflight-related businesses and individuals. The collaboration will see the Rooflight Association become actively involved in developing technical rooflight guidance and training for LRWA members. Plan to Collaborate Explaining the drivers behind the partnership, Sarah Spink CEO of the LRWA said: “Following the Rooflight Association’s rebrand and new strategic direction, there are lots of synergies with the LRWA and a mutual respect. By working more closely together, we can share knowledge and best practice that benefits our members. “As rooflights are commonly found on flat roofs with liquid-applied membranes, there are various specification and installation considerations when waterproofing. With the support of the Rooflight Association’s experts, our members can now benefit from more specialist experience and the latest advice.” Rooflight Training The rooflight training will form part of the LRWA’s specialist-applied skills programme (SAP). As part of the partnership, the Rooflight Association will be enhancing the current rooflights module ensuring it provides the latest information, meets the CITB standard, and is delivered with a focus on practical and theory-based learning. Rooflight Association Chairman Ian Weakford, added: “A key part of our mission is to support best practice in the specification and installation of rooflights. Our collaboration with the LRWA is a logical step for us and represents our ambition to play a central role in a more ‘joined-up’ roofing sector.” Shared Goals The LRWA’s collaboration with the Rooflight Association is part of a wider strategy to form stronger working relationships with other trade associations. The LRWA already works with the Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA), National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC), and Green Roof Organisation (GRO) to help raise the roofing industry’s profile and achieve shared goals. “By joining forces with other trade associations, we want to build a community that works together to benefit all those who work in the roofing industry,” added Sarah. “This approach also enables us to raise awareness of more specialist areas within roofing, helping to encourage contractors and other businesses to take a more active role.” >> Read more about rooflights in the news Previous article FP McCann Expands its Concrete Roof Tile DivisionNext article Dust Extraction Specialist Partners with Lighthouse Charity Share article You may also like View all News Flat Roofing +2 27 October 2026 Flat Roofing Specialist Secures Six Figure Loan for AI Survey Tech Featured Solutions +2 22 October 2026 A Tested Mitigation Layer Cover Board Flat Roofing +4 5 October 2026 Moy Group Appoints New CEO Featured Solutions +2 24 September 2026 A Tested Mitigation Layer Cover Board Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 126 September-October 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
