TaperedPlus Signs Up to Building a Safer Future Charter

SIGNING UP to the Building a Safer Future Charter is TaperedPlus, a specialist in the design and supply of flat roofing and insulation systems.

The Charter was developed in response to Dame Judith Hackitt’s Building a Safer Future Review following the Grenfell Tower tragedy. It aims to promote a culture of safety and proactive change in the built environment.

The Grenfell Tower fire claimed 72 lives and showed the need for improved safety standards in building design and management.

Building a Safer Future Charter

The new charter can be adopted by any organisation involved in the construction, design, and management of buildings of any height. By signing it, TaperedPlus commits to five key principles designed to drive culture change and improve building safety: collaboration, transparency, integrity, community and communication.

This commitment aligns with TaperedPlus’ recent achievement of the globally recognised B Corp accreditation, committing the company to using business as a positive force for communities, consumers, employees, and the environment.

Culture of Safety

Founded in 2014 by Aman Chahal and Rob Vass, TaperedPlus has quickly established itself in the provision of tech-enabled architectural design services for complex flat and tapered roof projects – enhancing the performance, safety, and sustainability of buildings.

Based in Stockton-on-Tees, with a technical design studio in Wolverhampton, it operates across multiple sectors. It also provides additional services in technical specifications such as BIM, acoustic, thermal measuring, and surveying.
