Tim Broughton has rejoined TaperedPlus as a Financial Controller.

He first joined in 2022 as a Commercial Finance Business Partner and was instrumental in growing its in-house finance function. Having left to launch his own accountancy services business, he now returns to succeed Stuart Mitton, who is retiring.

Tim has supported the flat roofing design and insulation systems company on a part-time basis since January, but returns full-time at the end of March, once his remaining self-employed commitments conclude, to ensure a seamless transition.

In his new role, Tim will assume overall responsibility for financial operations, leading on accounts, reporting and audits while further strengthening governance to support the company’s continued growth.

Aman Chahall, CEO of TaperedPlus, said: “Tim made a real impact during his first spell with us as we grew the in-house finance function. The fact that he chose to return in a senior capacity speaks volumes about our culture, direction and the opportunities that lie ahead.

“I’d also like to extend a huge thanks to Stuart. His experience and strategic guidance have enhanced our financial controls, helping the business expand. We wish him every happiness in his retirement.”

Natural Next Step

Tim Broughton, originally from Middlesbrough, added: “At the time, moving into self-employment was the right decision for myself and my family, giving greater flexibility while broadening my commercial experience.

“But when the opportunity came to return, it felt like a natural next step. TaperedPlus has continued to evolve, and I’m looking forward to leading the finance function, building on the strong foundations in place and supporting the leadership team as the business moves forward.”

Founded in 2014 by Aman Chahall and Rob Vass, Teesside-headquartered TaperedPlus also operates a technical design studio in Wolverhampton. In 2023, the B Corps certified business secured a £5.5 million investment from BGF to accelerate its digital transformation, expand its nationwide technical sales team and support continued growth.
