Britannia Site Solutions Enters Administration

ROOFING, cladding and façade contractor, Britannia Site Solutions has entered into administration, resulting in all of its 18 employees being made redundant.

Based in Hallow, Worcester, Britannia Site Solutions had been trading since mid-2011.

Since the pandemic the company had been struggling with increased supplier costs and projects being put on hold. The contractors also experienced significant delays in receiving payments due from major customers which severely affected cash flow.

Entering into Administration

The notice of intention to appoint administrators was filed at court on 2 September 2022 to enable an accelerated merger and acquisition process to take place. However, the sale of the business as a going concern was not possible and administrators were subsequently appointed.

Conrad Beighton and Joph Young from Leonard Curtis were appointed Joint Administrators of Britannia Site Solutions from 14 September 2022.

Conrad Beighton said: “We were hopeful of securing a purchaser for the business, but there was no interest of any significance as most of the contracts had already been terminated by the main contractors. As a result, there was little value in the residual assets of the company.”

Financial reports filed in September last year show monies owed to creditors amounted to £2.3 million.

Britannia Site Solutions had worked on some major projects, including the BBC headquarters in Cardiff and The School of Architecture and the Built Environment (SOABE), for the University of Wolverhampton. The company worked with main contractors such as Kier, Morgan Sindall and Willmott Dixon and developers.
