Sharon Llewellyn of JPR Roofing and Flooring Appointed Chair of the CITB England Nation Council

TAKING UP HER new position as Chair of the CITB England National Council, is Sharon Llewellyn, Risk Management and Projects Director at JPR Roofing and Flooring.

Sharon is also vice chair of the NFRC Midlands Region, and chair of the NFRC Safety, Health and Environmental Committee.

In her new capacity, Sharon will support the CITB board by providing insight into industry issues and advising CITB trustees.

The NFRC says Sharon is passionate about developing a young and skilled workforce for the industry. She is currently working with CITB, schools, colleges and businesses to raise the profile of construction to encourage 14-18 years old to start careers in the industry.

Sharon Llewellyn said: “I am delighted to be appointed chair of the CITB Nation Council for England. As a council member for the past three years, Vice-Chair of the Midlands Regional Committee and chair of the NFRC Health and Safety Committee, I know how important it is to have effective working relations between NFRC and CITB.

“As we move forward from the restrictions of the pandemic and into the new challenges faced by the industry, both NFRC and CITB will need to focus on filling the skills gap through facilitating a training programme alongside RoofCERT to produce a high quality, competent and skilled workforce for the future.

Melvyn Evans, NFRC Midlands Regional Manager, said: “Sharon is truly deserving of this position – she is already doing so much in the Midlands Region as NFRC Midlands Vice-Chair, Midlands Deputy Board Member, the Midlands Representative on both the Joint Flat Roofing/RBM Committee and Safety, Health and Environment Committee. She is also active in raising the profile of our industry across the country. She will be a fantastic spokesperson for roofing, ensuring our voice is heard at the highest levels in the CITB.
