Designed to address the varied challenges associated with ageing metal roof sheets, the PRX range provides building owners and specifiers with clearly defined options depending on whether a project requires waterproofing, thermally upgrading, or a protective refurbishment. Unlike traditional strip-and-replace methods, both solutions are engineered to extend the lifespan of metal roofs, minimise disruption, and support more sustainable refurbishment strategies. One Range, Two Distinct Systems The PRX range comprises two systems: PRX Enhance – a complete waterproofing system incorporating a thermal upgrade for enhanced energy efficiency. PRX Restore – a protective coating for long-term sheet protection. Each system has been developed to solve different problems commonly associated with profiled metal roof sheets. PRX Enhance Waterproofing with Integrated Thermal Upgrade PRX Enhance is a fully specified warm roof system designed for projects where both waterproofing and improved energy performance are required. When used as part of a warm roof application, the system incorporates precision-cut infill insulation manufactured to match the exact profile of existing metal roof sheets. This enables effective thermal upgrading across the profiled surface, significantly improving thermal performance and reducing heat loss. Once the insulation is installed, Polyroof’s advanced liquid-applied waterproofing membrane is applied to create a seamless, fully bonded waterproofing layer. The result is a durable, long-term waterproofing solution that enhances energy efficiency whilst extending the operational lifespan of the existing roof — making it particularly suitable for retrofit and building repurposing projects. Polyroof supports installations with fully transparent, straightforward guarantees of up to 25 years, subject to specification. PRX Restore Protective Coating for Metal Roof Sheet Protection PRX Restore is a cost-effective protective coating designed for structurally sound profiled metal roof sheets that require sheet protection rather than full waterproofing. Formerly known as Polyroof Roofcoat Elite, PRX Restore is applied directly to the prepared sheet by spray or roller, forming a durable, protective surface coating. This high-performance protective coating is intended to extend the service life of existing sheets. By retaining the existing roof structure, PRX Restore helps minimise operational downtime, reduce material waste and provide an economical refurbishment option where full waterproofing is not required. Complementary Metal Gutter Protection The PRX range is supported by Polyroof’s Xtraflex metal gutter coating — a fast-curing, highly flexible waterproofing system designed specifically for industrial gutters. Capable of accommodating the expansion and contraction typical of metal structures, Xtraflex provides a robust waterproofing solution for high-risk drainage areas. Meeting the Needs of Ageing Metal Roof Sheets Commenting on the launch, Craig Holden, Director of Polyroof, said: “Profiled metal roof sheets present unique refurbishment challenges, which Polyroof has recognised and has subsequently developed a solution to enable building owners and specifiers to upgrade existing assets efficiently and environmentally. “The PRX range addresses this significant gap in the market for pitched profiled metal roofs, representing the culmination of extensive research, development, and technical expertise within our team. “PRX Enhance delivers a complete waterproofing system with integrated thermal upgrade, whilst PRX Restore provides a practical overlay solution for roofs that remain structurally sound but require a new lease of life. Together, they offer robust, sustainable alternatives to the cost and disruption associated with full roof replacement.” Backed by over 40 years of roofing innovation and in-house research and development, Polyroof continues to deliver high-performance liquid roofing technologies designed to meet evolving building regulations and sustainability targets.
