His priority is to ensure SIG is supporting its customers with a comprehensive range of products to meet the increasing focus on sustainable and renewable solutions. With a lifelong interest in sustainability and over three years’ experience within SIG, Mark brings a close understanding of the developing requirements of the customer base. “I believe that, as a society, we are at a turning point and our buying decisions will increasingly be influenced by the environmental impact of the products we buy,” he said. “As a major distributor we can play an essential role in the supply chain, understanding what our customers need and providing the authenticated product ranges that fulfil the increasingly demanding criteria being set by clients and legislation.” Sustainable Products at SIG Mark will be working with the Building Research Establishment to establish independent and consistent methods of evaluating product sustainability – likely to include factors such as: embodied carbon, in-use performance and recyclability. “In this fast-moving market, a niche product, offering particular sustainability advantages can become mainstream very quickly once included in the SIG product portfolio. Part of my role is to provide a new route to market for such emerging products and technology.” This appointment, together with that of Lorna Stork as Environment, Sustainability and Governance Director, highlights the Group’s recognition of its potential to make a positive contribution to the environmental performance of the construction sector. >>Read more about sustainability at SIG in the news Previous article Dalton Roofing’s All Star ApprenticesNext article CITB Launches Employers Apprenticeship Toolkits Share article You may also like View all News Flat Roofing +4 5 March 2026 Financial Controller at TaperedPlus Returns Industry News +2 4 March 2026 Raise the Roof Celebrates Women Working Together in UK Roofing Green Roofs +3 4 March 2026 New Chair for Green Roof Organisation as Board Reaffirmed Featured Companies +3 26 February 2026 Glidevale Protect Strengthens Product Management Team with New Appointment Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 123 March-April 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
