Read the latest magazine People New CEO for CCPI 30 June 2023 AMANDA LONG has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of CPI Ltd, the independent organisation set up to administer the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI). Amanda will take over the role from current CEO Steve Marr who has been leading the scheme since the beginning of the year, and oversaw the first wave of intake for assessment and verification against the Code. Steve will stay supporting CPI Ltd in the role of Interim Chief Operating Officer. New CEO The CPI Ltd board says Amanda brings substantial knowledge and understanding of the built environment sector and has valuable experience setting up and running national schemes to raise standards in the construction sector. She has previously worked as an independent consultant for the Office for Product Safety and Standards and has engaged regularly with construction product manufacturers as well as other parts of the construction value chain throughout her career. She brings a strong knowledge of the Economic, Social and Governance (ESG) agenda, as well as an in-depth understanding of the current and expected regulatory conditions facing the industry. Amanda Long, newly appointed CCPI CEO, said: “I’m incredibly excited to be back working on the Code for Construction Product Information. It’s clear this scheme will be a crucial step change for the industry and fundamental to its success in the new regulatory environment which lies ahead. I look forward to engaging with more construction product manufacturers, as well as distributors, clients, and contractors to ensure the scheme delivers real value in terms of building safety.” CPI Ltd Chair David Topliffe, added: “It’s wonderful to welcome Amanda back to CPI Ltd as our new Chief Executive Officer. She has substantial knowledge of the sector and will bring real dynamism and flair to the role. With CCPI being recommended in the recent Independent Review of the Construction Products Testing Regime (Morrell/Day), I’m confident Amanda has what it takes to ensure we seize the opportunity of this moment to enhance building safety by getting more manufacturers through the onboarding and verification process. “I’d like to also thank Steve Marr for his tremendous work over the past six months for CCPI and I am delighted he will continue to support the CCPI helping us to develop our operational capability.
