Metal Building Envelope Provider Set for Expansion Move

METAL ROOFING and cladding supplier United Roofing Products is expanding to a new manufacturing facility and offices at Uffculme, Devon.

The move is set to take place over the Christmas break in a development to help the business grow and support customer service. The firm was established in 2001 and has seen consistent year on year growth.

The 41 strong United Roofing Products team is set to move from its current Cullompton base from December 18. The new site has two buildings totalling 40,000 square foot of manufacturing space at Hitchcocks Business Park in Uffculme. The new premises are around 3 miles from the current site and minutes from junction 27 of the M5. The existing offices will remain open until December 22 and the new production facility and offices will open on January 8, 2024.

United Roofing Products manufactures, stocks and sources roofing and cladding systems and allied products for the agricultural and industrial building sectors. The business supplies bespoke products, including insulated panels, twin skin insulated systems, ventilation solutions, condensation control and secondary structural steelwork. A technical support team also provides design and installation guidance.

Expansion Move

“The new unit will bring huge benefits to the business,” said Commercial Director Charlie Somerton. “It will enable us to improve our customer service, improve efficiency and invest in additional machinery. The move will be a paradigm shift that will facilitate growth.”

Ben Dominy, Managing Director, added, “We will undertake the bulk of the move, in particular the production facility, over the Christmas break, traditionally a time of closure, to limit the impact on service levels. We are working closely with customers and suppliers to ensure that we can continue to service their requirements over this period, however there will be some disruption to manufacturing between the 18^th of December and the 8^th of January. The office will remain open up to the Christmas shutdown.”

The new premises will allow the business to develop its commercial offer by increasing its range of stocked products to include insulation, insulated panels, underground drainage, modular roofing systems and a broader range of fixings and rainwater goods.
