MCRMA Membership Expands with Four More New Members

THE MCRMA, the industry association representing the metal building envelope sector, has started 2025 on a high with the announcement of a further four new members.

The association has welcomed two companies to its system manufacturers category – Bailey Total Building Envelope, a company which designs and manufactures architectural facades and roofing systems, and GL Profiles, a manufacturer of roofing and cladding profiles and flashings, rainwater goods and bespoke architectural fabrications.

Joining the MCRMA’s component manufacturers membership group is metal roof and gutter refurbishments systems specialist Sharmans. And the fourth new member is UKWS, a leading roofing and cladding contractor specialising in the industrial, retail and commercial sectors, who increase the representation of system installers in the association.

All four companies add to the strength and breadth of the MCRMA’s membership base, which spans every area of the design, manufacture, installation, maintenance and refurbishment of metal cladding and roofing.

Four New MCRMA Members

Commenting on their decision to join the MCRMA for the first time, Bailey Total Building Envelope’s Managing Director, Paul Martin, said: “This membership reinforces our commitment to excellence and allows us to contribute our expertise to the wider construction community whilst ensuring our clients continue to receive the highest quality solutions.”

GL Profiles, a Cambridgeshire-based family business who have been manufacturing products for the UK roofing and facades sector for 25 years, decided to join the MCRMA for a variety of reasons. The company’s Business Development Manager, Mark Smy commented: “We see a strong industry body as a vital component of a commercially healthy industry operating on the scale of ours, especially where the safety of so many people can be at stake.

“GL Profiles’ decision to join the MCRMA is an investment in our commercial development as well as an opportunity to participate in decisions that affect the future of our sector.”

Sharmans decision to join the MCRMA underscores the company’s commitment to industry collaboration, innovation, and maintaining the highest standards in metal roofing and cladding solutions. The company’s Technical Director, Garath Buckingham, said: “We are excited to become part of the MCRMA and collaborate with industry peers to drive positive change. This membership allows us to stay informed on regulatory developments, share our expertise, and enhance the value we deliver to our customers.”

Brian Morris, Technical Director at UKWS also commented: “We have always strived for excellence which is demonstrated in strong repeat clients and our commitment to staying on top of the latest developments. By becoming a member of the MCRMA we hope to further strengthen our commitment to excellence and have input into the industry as a whole, through MCRMA Technical Meetings.”

The addition of four new members increases the MCRMA’s membership to 55 businesses. These operate at all stages of the metal cladding and roofing supply chain, including systems manufacturers, component manufacturers, design and testing specialists and installers.

Carlton Jones, Director of the MCRMA added: “We’re delighted to welcome Sharmans, Bailey Total Building Envelope, UKWS and GL Profiles to the MCRMA.

“At a time of considerable change across the construction industry, the association has an important role to play in helping to shape future working practices and standards. So having companies at the forefront of their respective markets as members is extremely valuable, ensuring we can continue to represent the sector most effectively and support continuous improvement in all areas of metal building envelope design, manufacture, installation and maintenance.”
