Martin Stables Becomes IBMG Group Chief Commercial Officer

MARTIN STABLES is the new Group Chief Commercial Officer of the Independent Builders Merchant Group (IBMG), the largest independent builders merchant group in the South of England.

Martin is experienced in the building distribution industry, with a record of driving profitability and market share. He joins IBMG from Saint-Gobain Building Distribution, where he was

Commercial Director for Graham, Saint-Gobain’s £300m national plumbing merchant. His leadership roles involved procurement, category, merchandising, supply chain and pricing with Saint-Gobain and Jewson. Martin served on the management boards of Jewson and Graham brands.

IBMG Group Chief Commercial Officer

Martin joins at a time of strategic change following IBMG’s merger with Grant & Stone. His experience of large integration and change management will be invaluable as he brings together the commercial teams in each group to create a best-in-class commercial function for IBMG, the company says.

Reporting to Nick House, IBGM’s Group Chief Executive, Martin will optimise the trading performance of the Group with a best practice approach to category management, procurement, and pricing. He will also develop a supplier strategy to maximise collaboration and opportunities offered by the new larger organisation.
