The company is one of the first distributors in the industry to gain membership, confirming its position as a leader in the field and its commitment to raising roofing standards. In order to receive the accreditation, PermaRoof Commercial had to undergo a thorough inspection of its office and construction sites, as well as prove its compliance with the SPRA Quality Charter. Distributor Joins SPRA Duncan Kirkwood, PermaGroup MD The new membership is one of the first initiatives pushed forward by Duncan Kirkwood, PermaGroup’s new managing director. The move acts as a starting point to drive new standards in the industry. Duncan said: “Receiving membership into SPRA is a fantastic step for us and really sets us apart in the industry. We’re dedicated to constantly improving standards not just for ourselves but across the industry and having this accreditation to our name means we can continue to improve our work with the support of the association. “The marketplace is in a challenging position at the moment, but we are on track to achieve a record sales year in 2023. To continue this success, we want to reach even bigger heights over the next year, and being part of SPRA will play a key role in supporting our future expansion goals.” Membership to SPRA includes benefits such as support helplines and services, access to detailed forecasts and trend reports. It also opens access to single ply training courses, industry workshops and conferences, industry representation amongst stakeholders, and a member profile on the SPRA website. SPRA also sends prospective customers straight to its members through its referral programme, helping to boost business. Operating from its head office in Derbyshire, PermaGroup originally began trading in 1999 as a felt roof company, before setting up PermaRoof UK – one of the largest importers and distributors of the Firestone RubberCover and single ply EPDM rubber roofing systems. Since then, the company has expanded into a growing group of brands all operating under the PermaGroup umbrella – including artificial grass via PermaLawn, metal fencing solution PermaFence, steel-framed buildings through PermaRoom, and The Skylight Company. >> Read more of the latest roofing news Previous article Remediation Specialist Completes Multi-Million Cladding ProjectNext article Vivalda Launches New Fire-Rated Architectural Infill Panel Share article You may also like View all News Flat Roofing +4 5 March 2026 Financial Controller at TaperedPlus Returns Featured Solutions +5 26 February 2026 Precision Liquid Waterproofing Delivers Heritage Roof Refurbishment Flat Roofing +5 4 February 2026 Twenty Roofing Firms Appointed to £80m Scottish Roofing Framework Flat Roofing +4 3 February 2026 Flex-R Joins Builders Merchants Federation Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 123 March-April 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
