Stoneleaf Unveils Brand New Trade Counter and Showroom in Essex

Stoneleaf Building Materials has officially opened the doors to its brand-new trade counter and showroom demonstration centre in Chelmsford, Essex.

Founded in 1998, Stoneleaf has come a long way from its modest beginnings in a portacabin with a fax machine balanced on a cardboard box. Today, as an independent importer and wholesaler, the business remains built on two core principles: providing high-quality roofing products and delivering exceptional customer service to both its trade clients and end users.

“Although our showroom is new, our team have been with us for a long time, and we take immense pride in offering every contractor, specifier, and homeowner honest and unbiased advice. In fact, our very first customer is still a regular customer today,” the company says.

More Than Just a Display: A Hands-On Experience

Stoneleaf’s Trade Counter showroom has been deliberately designed to make choosing roofing materials as easy as picking out groceries. Inside, there are well-lit mock-up roofs displaying Stoneleaf’s clay and concrete tile ranges. Outside, the ‘Essex Barn’ style trade counter is clad in products which the company imports and distributes so customers don’t have to use their imagination when figuring out which sample to choose. Clients can see exactly how materials look, fit, and perform in situ before committing to a project.

In the demonstration area, customers can find the ‘Tile Library’ – a portfolio of roofing tiles and fittings including:

• Natural Slate: Stoneleaf import a comprehensive range of natural slates sourced directly from quarries across Spain, Brazil, and China. It also sources slate quarried closer to home in Wales and Cumbria.
• Low Pitch Interlocking Clay Tiles:  The business has introduced German engineering to its tile line up. The Karat RS from Erlus can be specified on roof pitches as low as 7 degrees. The Erlus Level RS and E58 RS can be used at 10 degrees, and complement the Planum, Innova, and Selectum tiles from Spanish tile manufacturer La Escandella.
• Clay Plain Tiles: Explore handmade or machine-made options like Stoneleaf’s Pembury and Danbury handmade clay tiles.
• Roof Windows & Solar: Alongside Stoneleaf’s slates and tiles, the company’s displays feature Velux and Dakea roof windows, and integrated solar panels from Wienerberger.

The trade counter is also fully stocked with roofing tools and essentials from trusted brands like Monument, EDMA, CMS, Manthorpe, Ulti-Mate, Klober, and Viper.

In the Stoneleaf Showroom, customers can browse and select roof tiles from the Escandella Tile Library. There are also Velux and Dakea Roof Windows in different internal finishes and opening styles for customers to interact with alongside Stoneleaf’s roof mock-up displays.
