SIG Puts People First with Charity Gala Dinner

SIG Ltd recently hosted a hugely successful charity fundraising gala dinner in aid of the Rainy Day Trust and Cancer Research UK.

Over 200 guests representing the UK building products supply chain attended the event which was hosted by Rory Bremner at the landmark venue of London’s Underglobe. Their generosity saw the event raise over £50,000 to be split between the two nominated charities.

SIG UK has always supported a range of charitable causes but the new management team has given the philanthropic activity a new focus by establishing a Charity Committee to
co-ordinate group-wide events and initiatives.

Led by serial fundraiser Ian Dryden, the committee has been very active over 2021 and is responsible, among other things, for the startling array of facial hair that was much in evidence at the gala dinner #tashforcash.

Ian Dryden was delighted with the success of the evening: “I was blown away by the generosity of our suppliers and business partners and their enthusiasm to support these two thoroughly deserving causes.

“I have always believed that supporting charitable causes should be part of my daily life and am delighted that the management team at SIG agree and are putting the weight of the Group behind our fundraising activities.

“With the success of this first gala event, I am hoping to make it an annual fixture in the SIG calendar.”
