£14 Million Leeds Roofing Tender Launched

LEEDS CITY COUNCIL has launched a £14 million roofing tender to shortlist eight roofing firms for its roofing framework.

The organisation is seeking to appoint four roofing firms to the framework to start work in June 2025. The framework will operate for four years until June 2029.

Published on 29 November 2024, the Housing Re-Roofing and Associated Works Framework 2025-2029 is to maintain an estimated 54,000 properties managed by Housing Leeds.

The framework includes works to provide a full property re-roof in slates or concrete tiles and includes soffits, fascia’s, rainwater goods, rebuilding in PVC or timer products. It also encompasses removing and re-building chimney stacks or repointing chimney stacks.

The project offers isolated re-roofing works, with some of the roofing work required being to single properties or in isolation in all areas of the city. Other work will be on batched properties in similar locations.

Flat to pitched re-roofing conversions are expected, as well as flat re-roofing works such as outbuildings and garages, maisonettes, some houses, flats, shop units etc.

Buildings to be worked on vary from traditional brick built to prefabricated light weight roofing systems and re-roofing buildings of historical importance in conservation areas. There will be occasional re-roofing of emergency referral properties when required. Other work will comprise working with Green Roof projects and any other associated works.

The tender documents conform to the common assessment standard and can be viewed in full free of charge.

The tender closes for bids on 15 January 2025 at 12:00pm. The estimated date of invitations being sent to selected candidates is 10 February 2025.
