First announced in 2022, the project has doubled the site’s production capacity, enabling the company to manufacture additional roofing shingles for customers in the southeast United States. The event, hosted at the facility, included remarks from Saint-Gobain North America President and CEO Mark Rayfield, and DJ Damberger, President of CertainTeed Roofing. In addition, the facility welcomed Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and Niki Vanderslice, President and CEO of Fayette County Development Authority, both key supporters and partners on the project. The speakers were joined in celebration by the construction team, customers and members of the Peachtree City and Fayette County community. Major Expansion Mark Rayfield, President and Chief Executive Officer of Saint-Gobain North America and CertainTeed, commented: “Today’s ribbon cutting ceremony in Peachtree City shows the continued growth of our business in Georgia, where we have invested over $500 million since 2018 and employ over 600 colleagues. It is a symbol of our commitment to serving our customers as they work to meet the region’s housing demand. “Congratulations to the entire team in Peachtree City who have worked tirelessly to make this expansion a reality and to all our community partners for their support. Together, we will continue to provide quality, resilient roofing and building materials for the future.” DJ Damberger, President of CertainTeed Roofing, added: “With growth across the United States, including today’s ribbon cutting in Peachtree City, Saint-Gobain and CertainTeed are demonstrating our leadership in the roofing industry.” “I would like to thank our entire plant and construction team, Governor Kemp and the State of Georgia, the Peachtree City community, and Fayette County, for all of their support on this project that will serve the entire southeastern United States. We’re proud to continue growing in Georgia, working to keep today’s families—and the next generation of Georgians—safe, dry, and well-protected.” The project was supported with more than $5 million in state and local tax incentives realized over the next decade. The CertainTeed Roofing plant, which first began operations in 1976, is one of the largest employers in Peachtree City and is one of ten Saint-Gobain facilities throughout Georgia, where the company also produces siding, insulation, ceiling, technical textile and construction chemical solutions. >> Read more of the latest roofing news Previous article The HCR Group Appoints New CFONext article Construction Companies Ordered to Pay $200k to Workers Fired for Raising Asbestos Concerns Share article You may also like View all News Industry News +1 18 March 2026 Tecta America Continues Expansion with New Acquisition Industry News +1 16 March 2026 The HCR Group Strengthens Roof Maintenance Expertise with New Acquisition Industry News +1 13 March 2026 Roofing Alliance Welcomes New Guarantor Member Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 122 January-February 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
