Sun Protection Reminder for Roofers as Heatwave Hits UK

AS TEMPERATURES soar in the UK, SIG Roofing is reminding roofers of the importance of using sun protection.

To help protect against high UV levels, SIG Roofing branches across the UK have filled their sun cream dispensers and have handy sun cream giveaways ready for customers.

The business has been supporting the national skin cancer prevention charity SKCIN over the past two years, training staff and customers, and initiating campaigns to raise awareness – particularly among male outdoor workers – of the importance of applying sun protection and regularly checking for signs of skin cancer.

Their most recent initiative was at the InstallerSHOW, where the roofing merchant dedicated a part of its stand to sun safety, encouraging all visitors to participate in a free face scan.

The face scanning camera, operated by a representative from SKCIN, highlighted sun damage on the skin and initiated conversations about how to reduce the risks associated with sun exposure.

As part of the campaign, SIG Roofing also recently launched free training for customers to help them learn how to implement key skin cancer prevention measures and educate them on how to spot the vital early signs of the disease.
