Robotic Cell

Cumbria-based manufacturer of roofing and cladding profiles, Steadmans, has strengthened its manufacturing capability by introducing a robotic cell and a new CNC machine.

The company says this investment in advanced production technology is designed to enhance performance across the production process, improving capacity, consistency, and overall efficiency, and will help the business to support its customers across a wide range of construction and engineering projects.

CNC Machine

Strengthened Manufacturing Capability

The newly installed robotic cell is already transforming the production of smaller sections. Processes that have traditionally required two skilled operators can now be carried out more efficiently, enabling team members to focus on higher-value work such as larger projects, more complex requirements and ongoing product development.

Alongside this, the addition of a CNC machine marks a significant upgrade to the wider production line. Supporting the manufacture of both large sections and smaller components, the machine will be utilised in nearly every order processed by the company. This will help to provide enhanced precision, repeatability and consistency, ensuring reliable, high-quality output at scale.

Darren Hall, Managing Director of Steadmans, commented: “We’re investing in our people, we’re investing in the future, and we’re investing in the region. This is about strengthening what we can deliver for our customers while continuing to support skilled manufacturing in Cumbria.”
