The new branding reinforces SR Timber’s strategic focus on offering clarity, correctness and confidence for its customers in a market crowded by substandard products, the company says. The new branding is on show throughout SR Timber’s new website and literature. When Shaun Revill co-founded the business in 2004, he brought more than two decades of experience. First as a slater and tiler working on the tools, then as a salesman for a Swedish-owned business, importing timber and specialising in roofing batten. Initially working in the sawmill, gaining a full understanding of production, shipping and logistics, to eventually managing the whole UK business. Shaun explains, “When SR Timber was born, it was created to make the correct product. Batten that is consistently sized in width and thickness and performs as it should. Batten that is correctly graded to BS 5534, sustainably sourced, protecting those who use it and the projects it’s used on. “From when a factory graded batten was first introduced for roofing works, to when BS 5534 changed in 2014, it has been my mantra to ensure only correct graded batten, such as SRT GOLD®, was and is imported and supplied throughout the roofing industry, so that customers, no matter the size of the project, remain compliant.” Modernised Branding In 2025, after celebrating 20 years in business, they decided to modernise the SR Timber brand. The team unanimously agreed that, in a market crowded with substandard and undersized battens, SR Timber stood for something: the correct product, made the right way. Now known as SR Timber’s Gold Standard, it is their benchmark to which SRT GOLD® batten is manufactured. The new look was therefore created to continue championing correct batten standards, the company says. Gold Standard It is recommended that, for all roofing works, a factory-graded roof batten be used. SRT GOLD® is fully compliant with relevant Codes of Practice BS 5534 and BS 8417 (treated to Use Class 2), is kiln-dried, correctly sized and graded. It also holds the Wood Protection Association’s approved product status and is CCPI-assessed 005300068/0626. Their new strapline, ‘Our Gold Standard – Correctly graded batten you can trust’ came out of this rebranding exercise. A new look, but the same correct standard. “The new company logo and SRT GOLD® logo better reflect SR Timber today,” Shaun continued. “The logos are clearly more modern, with strong colourways too, but it is the underlying brand pillars that encapsulate the business. “We are roofing batten specialists; we set the benchmark for batten in the UK market, and we continue to lead and inform with knowledge. We have always supplied our customers with the ‘correct’ product, and we geared our whole business around this, ensuring that we can control the production of the product from root to roof. It is what sets us apart. It is the right thing to do to ensure quality and safety for British roofers.” >> Read more about SR Timber in the news Previous article MKM Continues Expansion with Two New BranchesNext article Breathe Freely Roofer Fact Sheet Share article You may also like View all News Industry News +2 2 March 2026 MKM Continues Expansion with Two New Branches Featured Companies +3 26 February 2026 Glidevale Protect Strengthens Product Management Team with New Appointment Featured Solutions +5 26 February 2026 Precision Liquid Waterproofing Delivers Heritage Roof Refurbishment Check out the latest issue 122 January-February 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch
