SolarKW Sold to Upvolt

RENEWABLE ENERGY company SolarKW has been acquired by Upvolt providers and installers of solar systems.

The purchase was advised on by KBS Corporate for a “very acceptable price”, according to the seller, Keith Willis.

Keith Willis founded SolarKW, a previous winner of the Best Solar Panel Installation Company award at the SME Energy & Power Awards. From its Didcot headquarters, SolarKW services the regions of Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire.

“Keith joined the industry in 2010 when solar energy really kicked off in the UK,” explained Luke Rae, KBS Corporate Deal Executive, who advised throughout the sale to Upvolt.

“The business not only survived through many ups and downs in its industry but achieved many awards along the way, capitalising on the development of solar/renewable energy technology to aid the global effort to combat climate change.

“Amid an evolving solar power industry, with some big movers entering the marketplace, Keith wanted to be part of something bigger for ongoing business stability and growth – and has teamed up with an acquirer which utilises innovative technology.”

Upvolt’s acquisition of SolarKW is its first step in a nationwide expansion plan as an installer and provider of smart solar systems.

SolarKW will be branded as Upvolt Oxfordshire, with the company actively seeking to acquire additional businesses in the renewable energy sector this year.

Alex Lomax, Upvolt’s CEO, said: “This acquisition represents the beginning of an exciting journey for Upvolt as we expand our capabilities, scale our operations and deliver cutting-edge renewable energy solutions to homes and businesses across the UK.

“SolarKW has a fantastic reputation in the industry, and together we are poised to lead the way in making clean, sustainable energy accessible to all.”
