Read the latest magazine Charity News Richard Soan Roofing Raises the Roof for Charity 15 September 2021 RICHARD SOAN, Managing Director at Richard Soan Roofing Services in Lewes has raised over £30,000 for the charity Teenage Cancer Trust. Richard, along with his family, have been supporting the charity for over decade, but due to COVID-19 restrictions they have been unable to hold their annual fundraising event for two years. However, on Friday 10th September, Richard and family held their annual event by holding a Sports Persons Lunch and auction at the Grand Hotel in Brighton in the hope to raise vital funds for Teenage Cancer Trust. Guest Speakers During the lunch and auction, Richard’s guests enjoyed speakers such as Matt le Tissier and Victoria Humphries, along with comedian Andrew White, and showed their overwhelming support bidding for generously donated auction items. Teenage Cancer Trust’s vital services for young people with cancer are entirely dependent on fundraised income and every day seven young people in the UK (aged 13-24) are diagnosed with cancer. The money raised will now be used by Teenage Cancer Trust to fund specialist hospital units, nurses and youth workers across the UK that provide outstanding age-appropriate care and emotional support to those in need. Generous Donations Speaking about the event, Richard Soan said: “I am overwhelmed with the very generous support we have received from those successful in the auction, and to raise on the day in excess of £30k is just incredible. “I also want to say a massive thank you to all the different organisations that made today possible, by supporting the event, and to those businesses and individuals who donated auction items. “After all the problems we have all encountered with COVID-19, it was great just getting back to holding a live event again.” Helen Farquharson, Senior Relationship Manager for Teenage Cancer Trust, said: “We’re so grateful to Richard and his family for putting on this event and for their incredible support over many years. Our fundraising has been hit hard by the pandemic and it is fantastic to have Richard and his amazing guests’ support.” Find out how to fundraise or make a donation for Teenage Cancer Trust >> Read more about charity fundraisers in the news Previous article Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment Strengthened to Go Further FasterNext article New Documentary Behind the Façade on Industry Response to Grenfell Premieres Share article You may also like View all News Charity News +1 3 August 2026 Contractor Launches Industry-First Charity Hoarding Initiative Charity News +1 13 July 2026 Lighthouse Charity Digs Deep to Respond to Demand for Support in 2025 Charity News +2 10 July 2026 Workwear Brand Names Band of Builders as Charity Partner Charity News +1 26 June 2026 Construction Charity Tops £2m Project Delivery Milestone Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 125 July-August 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
