Read the latest magazine Apprenticeships Awards and Events Skills & Training North West Roof Training Group Celebrates with Welsh Slate Trophy 13 May 2019 ROOFING APPRENTICES in the north west have been rewarded for their achievements with the help of Welsh Slate. The UK manufacturer of natural slate supplied the North West Roof Training Group with a trophy of circular honed slate to celebrate their Roofing Apprentice of the Year competition at Bolton College. Welsh Slate Trophy The winner was Bradley Heffron of P Duckworth Roofing Services of Middleton, Manchester, who finished his NVQ Level 2 ahead of time. “The slating job he completed was super and we are very grateful to Welsh Slate for their support of the roofing apprenticeship movement,” said group training officer Sue Wharton.
