The move is subject to some final checks from the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and the Apprenticeship Assessment Service. Roofing Trailblazer assessment As of September 2019, all new apprenticeship standards must conclude with an external end-point assessment. This should be undertaken by an organisation independent of either the employer or training provider. The main advantage in this new process for the employer is that they get to choose which organisation undertakes this assessment. NFRC is now urging all roofing contractors to choose the federation as their End Point Assessment Organisation. NFRC Head of Technical and Training, Bob Richardson said: “Many companies are not aware they have a choice over which organisation they choose to be their End Point Assessment Organisation and often just go with the one chosen for them, which may not always be the best choice. “We are urging all roofing contractors to choose NFRC, the federation that stands for roofing excellence, as the End Point Assessment Organisation for their apprentices. By choosing us, contractors can be assured of our proven experience and expertise in the assessment process. “We are working closely with the Institute for Apprenticeships and the Education and Skills Funding Agency as well as putting in the necessary processes in place internally, to ensure that we ready to be able to start assessing the first apprentices to complete their roofing trailblazer.” Previous article Green Homes Grant Voucher Target Will Take 10 Years to Meet at Current RatesNext article Over 100 Scaffolding Students Already Trained at Swansea Centre Share article You may also like View all News Apprenticeships +4 5 March 2026 BMI Widens Access to Apprentice of the Year Competition Apprenticeships +3 16 February 2026 Roofing Experts Meet Apprentices in Drive to Close Skills Gap Apprenticeships +3 13 February 2026 New Sussex College Roofing Apprenticeship Tackles Skills Shortage Apprenticeships +3 13 February 2026 Construction Apprenticeships See First Increase Since 2021 Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 123 March-April 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
