New Roof Tile Initiative Launched to Help Tackle Homelessness

BUILDING MANUFACTURER Wienerberger UK & Ireland has partnered with homeless charity, Emmaus UK, on a new roof tile initiative aimed at tackling homelessness.

Wienerberger has committed to donate 50p for every full pallet of its Danum and Dual Danum TLE concrete roof tile products sold in 2025 to Emmaus’s Build Your Community Grant and its core programmes. The company aims to donate £55,000 this year through the charitable partnership.

The Build Your Community Grant supports Emmaus UK’s efforts to improve companion accommodation, including purchasing or renovating properties and funding new-build projects. Wienerberger says the initiative’s focus on its Danum TLE products, which are ideal for social housing re-roofing projects, “cements our aim to provide high-quality materials while also leaving a positive social legacy”.

Tackling Homelessness

Wienerberger launched its first-ever social impact strategy in 2024. As part of this, the business forged a partnership with Emmaus UK, contributing £10,000 to the charity’s Companion Training and Wellbeing Fund – a grants programme which allows companions to access funding for training and education, including opportunities within the construction sector.
