Modern Methods of Construction Among the house builders, housing associations and developers/manufacturers included, the report details high levels of adoption of different, advanced forms of MMC such as volumetric modules and panelised systems. Better quality, improved efficiency, accelerated delivery and increased productivity are cited as key factors driving their uptake of MMC. The report features case studies demonstrating a range of approaches to the adoption of MMC. A wider survey showed that 30% of those studied were already investing in their own manufacturing facility and a further 9% had plans to do so. As a further indication of confidence, 62% were committing funds to research and development. Commenting, Neil Smith, NHBC Head of Standards, Innovation and Research, said, “The study provides a useful benchmark to gauge future trends and patterns in the uptake of innovative forms of construction. “Overall, the findings demonstrate a clear commitment by developers to delivering high-quality new homes through the adoption of MMC. As this confidence in MMC grows and more technologies become proven, we will begin to realise the full potential for MMC to build more, and higher-quality, homes.” >> Read more about NHBC in the news Previous article David Wilson Homes Pins Hopes on TCL for Environmental AwardNext article New Academy Plugs the Gap in Current Roof Training Provision Share article You may also like View all News Industry News +2 20 March 2026 RA Issues Revised Safety Guidance on Rooflight Covers Awards and Events +3 20 March 2026 The Great British Slate Off Returns for 2026 Green Roofs +3 20 March 2026 Swansea Joins Global Network of Biophilic Cities Featured Solutions +3 19 March 2026 Flush Fitting Rooflights by Clement Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 123 March-April 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
