Read the latest magazine Industry News McConnell Realises Expansion Plans with East Kilbride Office 16 December 2021 ROOFING AND CLADDING CONTRACTOR, Hugh LS McConnell and McConnell Roofing is rebranding as McConnell and, in the first step of a planned expansion, has opened a new office in East Kilbride. The company’s original development plans were postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, with the success of several recent principal contractor wins and to coincide with its rebrand, McConnell is turning its plans for growth into reality. The company, which saw a £2.6m upturn in annual revenue in 2020/21 to £14.5m, has secured a string of high value projects and is included on a number of large-scale procurement frameworks. It works across all sectors, offering industrial, commercial residential and infrastructure roofing, both newbuild and RMI. McConnell was founded in 1929 with headquarters in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire with additional offices in Dartford, Kent and Camberley, Surrey. The company numbers several well-known organisations among its clients, including Marks & Spencer, numerous Councils and LEAs, BAE Systems, Thames Water and RAF Lossiemouth. McConnell Expansion The new office is based in the vibrant Scottish Enterprise Technology Park in East Kilbride, near Glasgow. It will provide a base for up to 30 additional employees and will be a launch pad for further growth. Located in the office will be McConnell’s refurbishment and cladding divisions together with support functions, including business development and bid support, estimating, SHEQ, and customer care. McConnell’s Managing Director, Eamonn McGarvey said, “The additional office in East Kilbride is great. It is an important addition to our portfolio for our growing refurbishment and cladding divisions that has gained real momentum in terms of principal contracting, enabling us to build on and plan for the future. “With such strong historical links in Ayrshire, the company will retain our Kilmarnock head office and base.
