Introducing Ulti-Slate from Ulti-Mate

Ulti-Mate Roofing and Building Products has added Ulti-Slate to its roofing range: a lightweight, thermally efficient and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional slate, designed to reduce structural loading.

What It Is

Ulti-Slate is manufactured from 100% fully recyclable, heat stabilised, UV protected eco-polymers. Because the material can be continually recycled, it reduces environmental impact compared with traditional roofing products.

Like the rest of the Ulti-Mate range, it is manufactured in the UK under ISO 9001 standards. It has been tested to demanding BRE specifications and carries a 30-year durability guarantee.

Built Around Handling

Ulti-Slate is easier to handle and cut than traditional slate, with no breakage, which makes installation more efficient and more cost-effective.

It is supplied in carry packs of 15 tiles, covering one square metre at approximately 8kg. Ridge and hip come in packs of five, covering one linear metre at approximately 3.1kg, so both are easy to move around a roof.

Set out at 200mm gauge, Ulti-Slate can be laid down to 15 degrees. At 150mm gauge it can be laid down to 12 degrees.

Where It’s Used

Ulti-Mate has designed Ulti-Slate for roof conversions, renovations and new builds, particularly where weight reduction and thermal efficiency are priorities.

It is thermally efficient, which helps improve energy performance in roof conversions. It has already been used to transform conservatory roofs into fully functional living spaces in a few days.

Because it does not break, it also suits roofs prone to breakage through vandalism, such as park and communal buildings.

Finish and Appearance

Ulti-Slate is resistant to moss and algae, so it maintains its appearance over time.

It is available in five UV stabilised natural colours with matching ridge and hip fittings, allowing homeowners to match a variety of architectural styles.

Availability

Dark Slate is held in stock by Ulti-Mate. All other colours are made to order, with a minimum of 900 slate and 450 ridge and a four-week lead time.
