THE REFURBISHMENT of a Grade II listed clock tower at High Storrs School in Sheffield has been completed by Stoic Roofing and Construction.

Gracing the Sheffield skyline for nearly 100 years, the historic structure has undergone significant restoration to address severe weathering and leakage issues due to several previous repairs.

Before undertaking the refurbishment, Stoic Roofing ensured compliance with heritage building regulations in order to make sure the clock tower’s historic design and construction methods were preserved.

The team stripped away the old, damaged lead before applying a code 6 lead system. Stoic says the newly covered clock tower will “enhance the longevity of the structure and significantly improve the tower’s waterproofing capabilities”.

The clock mechanism was also restored, making it accurate for the first time in years. The restoration not only secures the future of this landmark but also revitalises a historic feature of the High Storrs Schools grounds.

“We are delighted to have been entrusted with the restoration of such an important historic structure,” said Sam James, Managing Director of Stoic Roofing and Construction.

“This project reflects our commitment to quality craftsmanship and careful preservation of architectural heritage.”
