CSCS recently updated its Academically Qualified Person (AQP) card scheme criteria, including the list of qualifications it recognises. It means that AQP card applicants must be qualified in a relevant subject to SCQF Level 7 from 2024 to be eligible. NEBOSH L7 Construction Qualification The NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK) qualification is currently mapped to Level 6 on the SCQF framework. It will be updated to a Level 7 qualification from 2023 to ensure eligibility for a CSCS card. The updated specification will include additional learning on lung disease in construction workers, managing health and safety performance data, and using technology in construction project lifecycles. NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction is available in both UK and International variants. Although CSCS recognises the UK version only, both versions will be updated to ensure consistency across all qualification holders. Level 6 Until 2024 CSCS will continue to recognise people who have already achieved a Level 6 NEBOSH UK construction qualification until 2024. People who hold a NEBOSH National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals or NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety – both as Level 10 on the SCQF – are also able to use their qualification towards applications for the AQP card. Angeleen Hill, CSCS Scheme Manager, said: “CSCS fully endorses the revised NEBOSH Certificate in Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK). The qualification continues to fully meet Construction Leadership Council requirements and remains a vital resource for the industry as we continue collectively to raise standards and aim towards achieving a fully qualified workforce.” For more information about the NEBOSH Level 7 qualification and CSCS transition arrangement from Level to 7, see the CSCS page. >> Read more about CSCS cards in the news Previous article Funding for Medium-Rise Building Cladding Fixes OpensNext article Family-Run Roofing Firm Named Scotland’s Best Roofing Contractor 2022 Share article You may also like View all News Industry News +2 20 March 2026 RA Issues Revised Safety Guidance on Rooflight Covers Awards and Events +3 20 March 2026 The Great British Slate Off Returns for 2026 Green Roofs +3 20 March 2026 Swansea Joins Global Network of Biophilic Cities Featured Solutions +3 19 March 2026 Flush Fitting Rooflights by Clement Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 123 March-April 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
