Read the latest magazine Apprenticeships Industry News Skills & Training CITB Withdraws New Apprentice Support Grant Funding for Apprenticeships 20 August 2020 IN HER WEEKLY Chief Executive Update, CITB leader, Sarah Beale has announced that the New Apprentice Support Grant will be removed from 1 September 2020. The £500 grant was launched as a pilot programme 12 months ago. In the update, the Chief Executive says, “Research indicates that the £500 aid was not a key decision maker for those looking to take on an apprentice.” Other apprenticeship funding was announced by government in the Summer Statement providing additional support. Funding for Apprenticeships Employers who take on a new apprentice between 1 August 2020 and 31 January 2021 can apply for funding from 1 September 2020: £2,000 for each new apprentice aged 16 to 24 £1,500 for each new apprentice aged 25 and over Applications for the £500 New Apprentice Support Grant are closed from 1 September 2020.
