The code was initiated and developed by the Construction Product Association (CPA) in response to the Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety which found that the product labelling and marketing regime was ‘opaque and insufficient’ and called for ‘clearer labelling and product traceability’. It aims to raise standards in construction product information and marketing and to move the industry to a place where product information is clear, accurate, accessible, up-to-date and unambiguous. Paul Nash, CIOB Past President and Chair of its Quality Implementation Group, said: “The CIOB is committed to raising standards and promoting best practice in building safety and fully supports the aims and objectives of the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI). “Our members need to have confidence that the products they are procuring and installing are safe and the information about them is reliable. The code is an important move to build back trust in construction product information and marketing and drive positive culture change across the sector.” Products Critical to Safe Construction In August 2025 CIOB published it’s free to download Guide to Products Critical to Safe Construction which was produced in collaboration with several industry bodies including the CPA and CCPI, and signposts to the code. To date it has been downloaded almost 800 times. Amanda Long, Chief Executive of CPI Ltd, the not-for-profit independently run organisation set-up to manage the CCPI, said: “I am delighted that CIOB has joined as a CCPI organisation associate. This is a vital community we are building who are supporting the transformation of the industry to a place where product information and marketing is clear, accessible, up-to-date, accurate and unambiguous.” CCPI now has over 100 registered organisations working with the Code to raise their standards of product information and over 100 product sets on the market carrying the unique CCPI Mark awarded to product information that meets the high standards of the CCPI. >> Read more about the CCPI in the news Previous article First Slates Installed on Listed Library ReroofNext article UK Fire Service Tackles Solar Fire Every Two Days Share article You may also like View all News Industry News +1 25 September 2026 Just a Quarter of Life-Critical Fire Defects Fixed in Social Housing Since 2017 Health & Safety +2 25 September 2026 Warning Issued as ‘Deadly’ Roof Sheet Freebie Offers Put Lives at Risk Health & Safety +2 25 September 2026 Two Construction Firms Fined Following Design Change Failure Industry News +2 24 September 2026 Industry Calls for Stronger SME Support to Turn Vocational GCSEs into Careers Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 126 September-October 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
