Breyer Group Blames ‘Certain Contracts’ for Administration

BREYER GROUP PLC has announced its appointment of administrators, RSM UK Restructuring Advisory LLP, today, 3 April.

The roofing and maintenance company is said to have “recently experienced a number of financial difficulties and cash flow constraints as a result of certain contracts.”

A statement from the administrators said: “This resulted in significant pressure from creditors and ultimately the appointment of administrators.”

Glen Carter and Damian Webb of RSM UK Restructuring Advisory LLP were appointed as joint administrators of Breyer Group Public Limited Company on 1 April 2025.

Established in 1956 and based in Romford, Essex, the family-owned business offered property services in the South and South East. Breyer Group provided roofing, repair, large-scale refurbishment services and government funded decarbonisation schemes to local authorities, housing associations and major landlords.

The administrators have confirmed they are “exploring all options, including a potential sale of certain parts of the business.”

Asset management business, Cardo Group, which is in the same public sector market, is rumoured to be in negotiations to buy up Breyer’s roofing division.

Breyer Group’s demise into administration is thought to have been triggered by three winding up petitions for unpaid invoices claimed by subcontractors.

A voice message left by the Breyer Group finance department says, “Service is suspended due to non-payment of invoices.”

While two of the three winding up petitions lodged in court against Breyer in March were paid, a third was lodged with the court on Friday 28 March.

The sale of parts of the company, which employed over 250 people, should enable Breyer Group, to settle at least some of its outstanding debt with creditors.
