AccuRoof, part of SIG Roofing, has appointed Edward Cooke as National Sales Manager for Solar Renewables.

The new role will enable customers to access impartial product advice and technical support from a single source, helping to ensure the best solar solution for their roofing project.

New National Sales Manager

Edward began his career in financial services at Barclays as a business account manager before moving into the renewable energy sector in 2011. Over the past 15 years, he has built extensive experience in the solar industry and developed a comprehensive understanding of the full solar project lifecycle, including proposal design, procurement, financing structures, subcontractor coordination, and delivery oversight. He has worked closely with roofing contractors, coordinating roof-based solar installations and ensuring projects meet structural safety and performance requirements.

Edward will be involved in the Continual Professional Development (CPD) training for specifiers on solar, and in installation training for contractors on the AccuRoof ARRC scheme. He has the benefit of working with established brands in the solar arena, supplied by SIG Roofing, which offer a 25-year warranty on the solar panels and mounting equipment.

Commenting on his new position, Edward said: “AccuRoof’s approach to integrating solar with roofing systems was a major draw to this new role. It offers me the chance to help bridge the gap between contractors and solar deployment, helping roofing contractors unlock new commercial opportunities.

“My goal is to support customers in confidently delivering compliant, commercially attractive solar solutions as part of their wider roofing projects.

“A key focus will be enabling roofing contractors to participate in the energy transition. It’s an exciting time to join the business as solar becomes an increasingly important part of their future offer.”

Rising Demand for Solar

As the UK advances with many environmental initiatives towards its net zero target, demand for solar technology in both commercial and domestic buildings is increasing. Roofing contractors are best placed to install this solar technology, and with AccuRoof’s full, roof-agnostic advice and technical support now covering solar, this appointment has expanded the AccuRoof team’s expertise.

It adds the renewable solar option to their existing technical knowledge of single-ply, liquid, and hot-melt reinforced bitumen membranes, green roofs, and roofing and cladding systems in clay, slate, zinc, copper, and stainless steel. So, no matter the type of roofing project, AccuRoof can now advise on all the materials for build-up, including solar PV and battery storage solutions.
