Read the latest magazine Industry News Skills & Training £135m Boost for T Level Teaching 13 January 2021 A MULTI-MILLION pound government fund has been launched to provide facilities and equipment to teach the new T Level qualifications. The new technical qualifications are equivalent to three A Levels and combine classroom study with industry placements. The courses have been co-created with employers to generate the skilled workforce that businesses need for the future. The first three T Levels were introduced in September 2020 and included Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction. A further 7 will be available from 2021 and they will include an Onsite Construction T level. T Level Teaching Boost Qualification providers can bid for a share of the £135 million T Level Capital Fund, to upgrade classrooms and buildings in readiness for students starting courses in September 2022. Part of this funding will also be made available to pay for specialist kit such as surveying equipment. The government has also unveiled the first 56 projects for post-16 providers delivering T Levels from September 2021 totalling £48.5m of the £95m announced at Budget 2020.
