It’s a Truss-mas Tree from Pasquill Inverness!

A CHRISTMAS TREE measuring 23 feet has been made entirely out of trusses by Pasquill, a UK manufacturer and supplier of roof trusses.

Staff from Pasquill’s Inverness branch created a smaller design last year, and after receiving positive feedback, decided to supersize the tree for Christmas 2018.

Standing at 23 feet tall, the tree comprises of 11 different segments with a star on top.

“After the success of the previous year’s ‘Trussmas tree’ we decided to make a larger version this year.

“It has proved to be a great success, giving our customers the Christmas spirit during the festive period,” said Donaldson Matheson, Senior Designer at Pasquill.

The design team used MiTek Pamir 3D software to carefully plan the structure.

The 3D modelling and augmented reality allowed the team to understand the scale of the creation and how it would stand.

Once the design process was completed, the individual pieces were cut, pressed and plated together at the branch.

Anchoring the base to the ground allowed the individual pieces to be put into place to form the structure. Lights were added as a final touch giving the tree its festive feel.
