The company is transferring its Saint-Gobain Weber GmbH dry mortars division to its long-existing joint venture with Franken Maxit, which is 50% owned by Saint-Gobain. Saint-Gobain is also integrating all of its other construction chemicals businesses in Germany: including the Weber, GCP and Chryso brands. The business says the reorganisation will help it to further develop technical applications and specialty products. With the transfer of the Weber dry mortars business, which generated revenues of around €170 million in 2024, Franken Maxit, which has previously been mainly present in southern and eastern Germany, will become one of the largest dry mortar manufacturers in Germany. Saint-Gobain Reorganises After the transaction, the joint venture will have 17 locations in Germany and the Czech Republic with a total of over 1,200 employees, of which approximately 400 come from Saint-Gobain Weber. In the context of the upcoming stimulus plan in Germany, Saint-Gobain is focusing its construction chemicals offering on technical applications and specialty products for building protection systems, flooring solutions and infrastructure. The reorganization is expected to allow Saint-Gobain teams in Germany to best serve customer demand. The transaction is expected to complete by the end of September 2025.
