Read the latest magazine Industry News CITB Publishes Construction Workforce Outlook 2025-29 17 June 2025 THE CONSTRUCTION Industry Training Board (CITB) has today published its Construction Workforce Outlook 2025–29, a report setting out the workforce needs of the UK construction sector over the next five years. Previously named the Construction Skills Network report, the Workforce Outlook reflects a broader understanding of the sector’s needs. The organisation has been producing workforce outlooks since 2006/2007 to provide evidence and insights into the number of workers needed to meet forecasted demand. It is still the only report of this type for the construction industry and is compiled using a range of both backward and forward looking data. Having a view on changes in the construction workforce and the need for extra workers is a core part of helping CITB better understand future training needs, the organisation says. Construction Workforce Outlook Tim Balcon Tim Balcon, CITB CEO, comments: “For construction to have the workforce it needs in the future, investment in training that supports people into jobs is crucial. This is at the heart of CITB’s Strategic and Business Plans. “The latest outlook shows that there are opportunities ahead. Successfully achieving them requires long term commitment from employers, government, training providers, CITB and other partners to support investments in training that lead to jobs. If we don’t train more people and ensure that they can join the construction industry, we will not have the skilled, capable, productive workforce needed to build the homes, hospitals, schools, power and water networks of the future.” >> Read more about CITB in the news Previous article Safety Specialist Teams Up with DIY SOS to Transform Youth ClubNext article NHBC Appoints New CEO Share article You may also like View all News Industry News +1 3 September 2026 Builders’ Merchant Q2 Sales Fall Year-on-Year Adhesives +3 3 September 2026 Sika Acquires Turkish Adhesive and Sealant Manufacturer Industry News +2 3 September 2026 Construction Companies to Pilot New Deaf Awareness Training Programme Industry News +1 2 September 2026 NBS Tackles the Specification Gap in New Guide for Manufacturers Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 125 July-August 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
