Women in Roofing 2019 Conference

AFTER A SUCCESSFUL 2018 Conference, which saw over 100 industry professionals attending, the 5^th annual Women in Roofing Conference 2019 is being held at the Vox conference centre, Resort World, Birmingham on the 24th June 2019.

This year’s Women in Roofing Conference has the title Choosing Change.

Organisers say this reflects the changes made to the format and content of the conference. This year, it is being professionally organised and facilitated with a greater focus on networking and substantive learning opportunities for delegates, whilst still celebrating the commitment, contribution and enthusiasm that women bring to the roofing industry.

Women in Roofing reports that the conference is being sponsored by, and has contributions from, a wide range of industry individuals, organisations and businesses which they say “is indicative of the growing support for our activities and initiatives”.

2019 Conference

The 2019 Conference will look at the most relevant and pressing of the challenges facing the industry and offer focused interactive sessions and workshops and inspiring keynote speakers. It will also look at best practice case studies and hear from people who are challenging the norm.

Panel discussion: “What changes do we want to see in our industry?”
A facilitated audience and panel discussion with audience participation through an electronic questioning system.

A friendly roofing industry community to share best practice, broaden professional connections and relationships, and create opportunities. We will be offering more Networking opportunities particularly during the evening event.

Awards

After the success of last year’s Women in Roofing Awards we will be offering three new award categories:

• Proud to Promote Award
  For activities to raise the profile of the roofing industry
• Diversity Champion
  For going above and beyond to help individuals or groups under-represented in roofing
• Most Inspiring Employee

For someone who has led an initiative, which has made business change, for example regarding the wellbeing of teams, encouraged recruitment or inspired others in their business to achieve more.

In addition to Women in Roofing’s two existing awards:

Ellie Coulter Business Excellence Award

To honour a member of the roofing industry who champions the pursuit of excellence and whose exemplary achievement, excellence of practice, and true leadership have inspired and reflected honour upon the industry to the highest degree.

Maureen Johnson Rising Star Award

To recognise and reward impressive accomplishments and results seen in the first five years’ experience working within the roofing industry.

These awards are intended to recognise exceptional individuals and are open for everyone to enter.
