Weymouth Roofing and Cladding Company is Celebrating 15 Years in Business

A roofing and cladding company based in Weymouth, is celebrating its 15^th year in business in 2025, following stellar growth over the past decade.

Tek Clad Ltd, started by Ian Hambidge in 2010 in the wake of the financial crisis, struggled to turn a profit for the first two years.

Now, it reports capacity to take on projects in excess of £1m. Having set out as a one-man operation, managing director Ian now leads a directly employed team, with 100+ years of sector experience among his core staff alone.

Specialising in roofing and cladding for commercial and industrial properties, Tek Clad Ltd works on multiple projects across Somerset, Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire, as well as Hertfordshire and the Midlands.

Celebrating 15 Years in Business

Tek Clad Managing Director Ian Hambidge said: “This is a huge milestone for both the business and me personally. As we approached our 15^th anniversary, I’ve been reflecting on how far we’ve come, and I couldn’t be prouder.

“I started Tek Clad with virtually nothing – struggling to make even £6,000 profit in the first couple of years. Now, we’re a thriving company with an extensive portfolio of high-quality work, taking on bigger and bigger projects every year.

“We’re excited to celebrate this achievement. Reaching this point is a testament to the dedication of our incredible team and the loyalty of our clients.”

Tek Clad began 2025, its anniversary year, with a bang, investing £340k in two state-of-the- art telescopic handlers. The new machines, which arrived last month, enable them to perform all lifting operations in-house without relying on subcontractors or equipment hire. Operated by Tek Clad Ltd’s fully trained, directly employed team, the machines will enhance speed, safety and precision on projects, supporting their goals of business expansion.

Ian Hambridge added: “With continued investment in technology and training and accreditation for my team, we will continue to grow, bringing our high standards to even more clients. We’ve come a long way already, and we look forward to the next 15 years of growth and success.”

Placing a high value on training and accreditation, the management team hold CSCS cards and are members of the Institute of Roofing. Tek Clad Ltd is also a member of the National Federation of Roofing Contractors, including the Roofing Competent Person Scheme, RIDBA and holds Safe Contractor and Constructionline gold accreditations. The company holds Safe Contractor approval and is SafePQQ Gold Standard accredited.

Tek Clad has 15 years’ expertise, specialising in roofing and cladding for commercial and industrial properties, including installations, refurbishments, including overcladding and replacements, maintenance and repairs. The company works with various systems, including composite twin skin and standing seam systems.
