New Texas Plant Located in Sealy, Texas, the site will manufacture the full range of Sika’s Sarnafil® and Sikaplan® thermoplastic roof membranes. The project will initially create just over 40 jobs in Austin County, with staffing to grow once full production shifts are in place. Sika says the investment marks a significant milestone in the history of its U.S. operations and positions the company “closer to major strategic metropolitan markets” across the western and southern United States. Jim Walther, President and CEO, Sika Corporation USA, said: “This new investment into our roofing membrane manufacturing and supply chain footprint is a testament to our unwavering commitment to our leadership position in commercial roofing. “This strategic decision strengthens Sika’s ability to deliver innovative and sustainable construction solutions for the demanding construction projects of our valued customers.” Roof Recycling Program The new plant will further expand Sika’s existing roof “take-back” program. The closed-loop roof recycling program, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2025, has taken back millions of pounds of end-of-life Sika roofing membranes and incorporated them back into new roofing products. The new plant should help this recycling program’s impacts grow exponentially in the coming years, the company says. Sika develops and manufacturers systems and products for bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing, and protection in the building industry. The company has subsidiaries in 102 countries around the world and produces in over 400 factories worldwide. In 2025, Sika’s 33,700 employees generated annual sales of CHF 11.20 billion (Swiss francs). >> Read more about Sika in the news Previous article ABC Supply Co Streamlines Subsidiary BrandingNext article Valcourt Group Joins the Roofing Alliance Share article You may also like View all News Awards and Events +4 19 November 2025 IKO Wraps Milestone Year of Profit Power Roofing Workshops Flat Roofing +2 16 October 2025 Soprema US Announces Tropical Roofing Products Brand Transition Cladding +3 8 January 2021 LafargeHolcim Acquires Firestone Building Products in $3.4bn Deal Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 122 January-February 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
