SHAUN REVILL, co-founder of SR Timber, has received a Service to the Industry award at this year’s Timber Development UK (TDUK) Annual Awards Dinner.

Shaun Revill received the accolade in front of 400 members in attendance at the event, held in London on 5 November.

David Hopkins, CEO of TDUK, said the annual event “shines a spotlight on just seven companies and individuals that go above and beyond in their service to the timber industry.

“There’s so much incredible talent, passion and dedication right across our industry, much of which goes under the radar. So, these awards help bring to light the accomplishments of our members,” David added.

The award was given to Shaun, as a third-generation roofer, due to his passion for timber batten grading, quality and regulation. He explained that Shaun’s robust enforcement is well respected throughout the industry, particularly since founding his own business 20 years ago.

Service to Industry

Shaun Revill said: “I’m delighted to have been given this award by my peers in the industry. My mantra has always been about the importance of only using quality graded timber battens in the construction of both new and refurbished roofs.

“It is all about protecting roofers who work at heights, keeping our homes water-tight, and ensuring that the batten can do its job in holding the weight of roofing tiles, so that homeowners are protected too. It is a constant education process, and I feel proud that this work is recognised across the TDUK membership.”

Shaun and his team attend the awards each year. It is a night of celebration and networking with industry peers.
