Third Heatwave of Year This Week

A third heatwave of the year is forecast for this week, building steadily through the coming days.

Temperatures are expected to climb into the low 30°s Celsius across much of southern England from the start of the week, with some locations potentially reaching 34-35°C later in the week.

Third UK Heatwave

The heatwave is expected to be more comfortable than last month’s record-breaking red heat warning week. This month is expected to be less humid, with lower peak temperatures and fewer exceptionally warm nights.

With high UV and high temperatures, employers and exposed workers should take the usual precautions to protect themselves from the heat and the sun.

Forecast temperatures for southern parts of the UK include highs of around 32°C on Monday and Tuesday, rising to 33°C on Wednesday, 34°C on Thursday, and with isolated locations potentially reaching 35°C on Friday and Saturday.

Scotland and the far north of England will not be affected through the first half of the week.
