On Thursday 22 August, employees and their family and friends gathered at the new office for the grand opening event which included a BBQ, ice cream van, virtual golf, and a magician to entertain the little ones. Remaining in the town of Olney, Stoic has moved its central hub to the larger, state-of-the-art facility to accommodate its rapid growth after having outgrown its old offices. The new facility will also serve as the headquarters for two other group companies, Zeno Construction and Abbeymill Homes. From purchasing land through to practical completion, the team carefully planned and constructed the modern open-plan office building – which includes a gym, break-out meeting rooms, a conference room and even a golf studio – to suit the needs of all three companies. Richard Lines, Commercial Manager at Stoic Roofing and Zeno Construction, said: “Since we started six years ago, Stoic has rapidly grown year-on-year and we outgrew our old place on the other side of town. Everyone was sitting on top of each other in a cramped office, so now it’s really nice to have a new purpose-built space with a gym, showers, and a golf studio as we’ve got a lot of golf enthusiasts.” Image: Paul Wright, Grey Bear Media Expanding Business Since forming in 2018, Stoic Roofing & Construction has expanded significantly in the last few years with a projected turnover of £19 million. The company works on projects across the UK, from Inverness in Scotland to the South Coast of England, with an additional office in Leeds covering its activity in the North. “We’ve got project managers dotted around the county. We cover everywhere up to Inverness. If it’s the right job, we’ll do it,” explains Richard. The company’s expertise spans across roofing disciplines and within residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Contracts range from flat and pitched roof installations, to heritage restorations and repairs, to multi-million-pound roofing frameworks for clients including schools, universities, councils, housing associations and retailers.
