Read the latest magazine Industry News Single Ply SPRA Supporting its Community 30 March 2020 COMMUNITY is important and highly valued at SPRA. By understanding each other and working together, we have been able to create a strong industry with exceptional guidance and support. As our own Prime Minister suffers from Covid-19, he has just highlighted the importance of ‘society’ during these extremely difficult times and we are seeing incredible acts of kindness and examples of innovation across the UK over recent days. SPRA has always known the value of community, but everyone needs to dig deep to support ourselves, our family, friends, colleagues and indeed, strangers more than ever. We must adhere to the social distancing rules set in place by the government. It is distressing to see that there are still those who are ignoring the advice or trying to profiteer from this situation. The sooner we all do the right thing, the sooner we will be back to something like normal. Positive action There are many ways to take positive action to keep safe and well, both physically and mentally and the internet is a vital source of entertainment, education and encouragement. (Just remember to fact check as best as possible and filter out the more negative aspects before you spread information!). The SPRA team is working as normal, and we will continue to provide advice, guidance and support to our members and the industry through our weekly newsletter and other activities. We are increasing the flow of information between our members and important industry bodies like the Construction Products Association and Build UK, so that they have an input on what’s happening on a daily basis. Offering support We also want to take this opportunity to highlight the support offered by both Building Mental Health, and Mates in Mind, who are important organisations offering vital support to our industry for those in need. Many of us are not in our normal workplace, but we can still offer support to colleagues. Community is key. The future will be a different place, but one with amazing innovation that wouldn’t have existed just a short time ago. It isn’t going to be easy, but together, we can ensure the best possible outcome. Find out more about the SPRA here.
